Emmanuel Church has a new website!

The new site is located here: http://emmanuelchurch.life.

get connected

A connecting point is a purposeful space or environment designed to help people belong to each other and become more like Jesus.  Connecting Points come in all shapes and sizes.  They currently fall into four categories:

   • Lifestages:  Demographic groups (Young Adult, Men’s ministry, etc)

   • Neighborhood:  Traditional home groups

   • Theme Based:  Groups based on a
     particular topic

   • Prayer:  Groups that focus on intercession

   • Leisure:  Groups focused on everyday
     activities for fellowship

There is a place for you!  Connecting points are launched each September, but many groups go year round and you can join a group at any time.  If you are interested in joining, leading, or starting a new connecting point, please contact Jeff Bjorgan (jeff*Question about Small Groups).

there's more to life!

At Emmanuel we recognize that Jesus came to bring life and life more abundantly. This is good news for everyone! It is our responsibility as Christians to live out a new way of thinking, a new kind of culture. A culture that puts God first and others before ourselves.

God chose a community as his primary way for redeeming the world and getting his message out. Just like a molecule is made up of atoms tied together, life exists when all the pieces are connected together.

belonging & becoming

We all need a place to belong. Our desire is for everyone to have a relational connection with others in our church. Friendship takes time and commitment in order to grow. Studies have shown that people commit to relationships before they commit to a cause. That’s why we want to provide as many environments as possible that help foster friendship. Friendship is foundational to our spiritual formation.

Living the Christian life involves becoming more like Jesus. That is what discipleship is all about. We believe that spiritual formation takes place alongside others. Our goal for all of our connecting points is to provide opportunities to grow in our Christian faith through worship, instruction, fellowship, evangelism, prayer, and ministry.

You can access our church library on Sundays and throughout the week. The library is in the foyer right beside Common Grounds coffee bar. Our librarian, Lin Tingstad, does a great job of bringing in new resources, so continue to drop by to check out the broadening shelves of books, videos, and curriculums.

Pastor Jeff*jeff*Question about Small Groups keeps most of the resources and curriculums for small groups in his office. Whether you’re looking to start a new connecting point, or looking for a self-guided study of some kind, you are welcome to browse through the selection of spiritual formation materials that we have available.
